Cornielle - Mendoza was founded on October 28, 1942, by lawyers Dr. Carlos Cornielle Segura and Dr. Carmen A. Mendoza Betances.
Both prominent lawyers and politicians, who held various important public and political positions throughout their life. Cornielle was deputy for several provinces, attorney general of the courts of appeal and attorney general of the Dominican Republic.
He worked as a criminal lawyer of great national recognition, also dedicating himself to the land clearing processes, commercial, civil law, and “quick divorce processes for which he received international recognition, clients as Barbra Streisand, Elliot Gould and Nadia Cassini and many more celebrities.
He was professor of law at the Primada University of America. He founded the Institute of Legal Sciences and also worked as an ambassador of the Dominican Republic.
Carmen Mendoza, was the first woman appointed as a public defender. She was a prosecutor, senator, and deputy.
